If you are
thinking about having your bridal gown
individually designed and made to order, we
usually request that you spend some time
trying on similar styles in the shops
beforehand. This helps you clarify the shape
you’d like and ensure you’re happy that the
style suits your figure shape.
|
 |
We
would then arrange for you to come for a
consultation.
This usually lasts for around 45
minutes and is used to listen to your
ideas, gather information and offer
suggestions if appropriate. |
 |
Following
this meeting, you will receive a pack in
the post including a sketch of the planned
garment to explain our understanding of
your brief, an indication of how many
fittings will be needed, when the garment
would be completed and how soon you would
need to let us know in order to secure the
booking, as well as an indication of cost
and quantity of fabric needed.
|
 |
If
you decide you’d like to go ahead, we
would request a 50% non refundable
deposit to secure the booking.
We will immediately send a receipt
for the deposit and call to arrange a date
for measuring, with final payment due at
the final fitting. |
 |
Following
measuring, the first fitting will be on a
calico toile. This is a replica of the finished garment but is made from an
inexpensive fabric. |
 |
We
use the toile to ensure a perfect fit is
achieved, and to decide on the exact
styling, position of seams and fastenings
etc. |
 |
The
second fitting will be on the calico
again, by which time the adjustments will
have been completed. You will need to bring the final fabric with you to this
fitting. The next fitting will be the
first time you see the garment made up in
the finished fabric. |
 |
During
this and any following fittings,
adjustments will be made to ensure a
perfect fit and finish.
|
 |
In
total, the fittings process takes between
three and six weeks and we ensure it is as
relaxed, creative and enjoyable as
possible. |
 |
We
try to be very clear from the start about
what is achievable, so there are no
surprises along the way, we are careful to
listen closely to your expectations and
ensure you are happy with each step of the
process. |
